What is a DevaCut?
A DevaCut is a hair-cutting technique specially designed for naturally wavy, curly, or coily hair. It is cut on dry hair and customized based upon your own unique curl pattern. Since this technique is done curl-by-curl, this type of haircut is best for individuals who always wear their hair in its natural shape. It will not provide an "even" haircut for straightened or blown-out styles.
How to prepare for your DevaCut.
Please arrive to your appointment with your hair cleansed, de-tangled, styled how you generally wear it and completely dry. Product is okay but no ponytails, buns, headbands, clips, etc. should be worn in the hair in order to prevent disruption of its natural curl pattern. This is called being "Deva Ready" and it allows the stylist to properly and accurately cut your hair in its naturally curly state.
What to expect during your appointment.
During a thorough consultation, you and your stylist will discuss any problems you're currently experiencing, your goals for your hair and your ideal outcome of the service being performed that day. The majority of the hair-cutting will be done first followed by the transformation service. During the styling process, your stylist will educate you on the best DevaCurl products for your specific hair type and the best application techniques for your desired styling results. Once the hair is completely dry, your stylist will check your haircut now that the curls are freshly re-hydrated and edit the haircut, if necessary.
